The city of Mhamid has a rich tradition of ceramic and brick production. At the same time, there are major problems with sand being carried away by the wind in the region around the Sahara, which makes it difficult to build in the desert environment. By using digital design tools and 3d-printing we managed to design a dynamic and interlocking brick. This makes it possible to construct brick structures that adapt to the movement of the Sahara sand over time.
