“I snitt” is a temporary pavilion for the 2020 Swedish Architecture Gala as well as the winning entry in the Steel Race Reuse 72 hour design competition. The pavilion is made up of 9 steel sheets in standard dimensions that have been cut and assembled into a freestanding structure completely without any screws or welding. The pavilion is designed to be used in different public spaces and can host both exhibitions and temporary fairs.
The design of the pavilion is inspired by the columns of the Stockholm Concert Hall facade, but is reinterpreted into a light, modern material-efficient construction. When the pavilion has made its last performance, it can easily be disassembled and returned to the workshop where it can be used in new forms. Apart from some small cuts, the plates are in their original condition. The amount of waste is minimal
